The development of a hand held device requires a special amount of attention to design detail. The ability to accurately calculate a given design's tolerance of a 4 foot drop onto concrete, or the thermal shock of a flash freezer, is at best a guess.

Before spending several million dollars on development and tooling of the Intermec Anteres® Remote Data Terminal, Kramer worked with the Intermec design team and Metalcast Engineering to mold and test actual assemblies within 6 weeks of first CAD data. Several design iterations later, all verified by tooling updates, the design was approved, released to hard tooling, and into production.
